Only Remembered(October 01, 2014)
BelCanto has come to the end of its run of 5 performances of "Only Remembered", the story of two Derbyshire lads, Billie (a farmer) and Joe (a miner), who go off to The Great War in 1914. The production was performed to packed audiences at
Rolls Royce Pavilion, Derby
St. Peter's Church, Belper
The Whitworth Centre, Darley Dale (2)
Ashbourne Methodist Church
Thanks to our very generous sponsors we were able to give the proceeds of all performances to "Help For Heroes". The proceeds are now almost finalised and we are able to present over £4,000 to our chosen Charity. A magnificent effort by all concerned. There are so many people who deserve our thanks for this effort:
Neil Hartshorn who wrote the original script.
Eddie Bennett who took the part as the Captain
Craig Griffiths, Matt Jarvis and Jeffrey Worrall who took the parts of Billie and Joe
Dai Perry was the Vicar and John Crockford the Padre
Andrew and Sian did a magnificent job with the musical content
The entire Chorus, many of who had never acted before, was magnificent
David Storr did a wonderful job with publicity and sponsorship
Jeffrey Worrall arranged all printing of posters and tickets
John Crockford & Sid Harbey were responsible for ticket sales..
Lastly but not least our Sound & Lighting Engineer, Dave Martin brought the finishing touches to the whole production.
Finally a special word of thanks to all our ladies for their patience and endurance.
Well Done Everyone.
