First Concert Hits all the Right Notes

(June 30, 2010)
On a beautiful summer evening at St Anne's Church Ambergate, BelCanto entertained a packed church with its first concert.
Musical Director, Andrew White, was not only delighted with the performance of the choir, but with the positive reaction of the entire audience. Indeed it inspired members of the audience to thank the choir for "bringing some wonderful entertainment to Ambergate".
The choir consists of some experienced hands and some members for whom this was the first time they had performed in public. However, all the hard work of the past six months came to fruition on the night. The audience reaction lifted all concerned from the first song, "Freedom is Coming" a traditional African song, to the last "Love is All Around".
Humorous, individual contributions by Craig Griffiths and Neil Hartshorn added greatly to the ambience of the evening. Everyone appreciated the contribution made by Sian Mosley, who accompanied the choir throughout.
It was a great evening for all concerned, and a retiring collection raised nearly £140 for St Anne's Church funds.
Dear Sid,
Please express my sincere thanks to all members of BelCanto and the ladies who organised the refreshments on Tuesday night.  It was such an enjoyable evening, your choice is a delight to listen to - my favourite was your first item and I will never hear mention of a snake again without laughing.  I hope you go from strength to strength.  Again, thank you all.
